Com’ è vivere in questi luoghi? Come agire sull’abbandono?

Abstract
The Matanza Riachuelo basin, a vast territory of the southern province of Buenos Aires, was destroyed in little more than a century because of man. The contamination of water, soil and air has seriously endangered the lives of people living near the edge of the Riachuelo. The floods, the lack of services, the lack of education mean that these people remain marginalized and increasingly poor considering that the industries present, remain abandoned day by day. What is it like living in these places? The first part of the thesis tries to analyze all the factors that contribute to the quality of life of people and environmental risk present in the Cuenca Matanza Riachuelo. The maps will allow to better frame geographically the different data analyzed, while the photos will help to understand the quality of the spaces where the inhabitants of the Conca live. How can we help the Riachuelo in its decontamination and flooding phase? The original environment of the Conca was quite different from today. The hand of man over time, netting the Riachuelo for example, has conditioned the survival of a natural ecosystem. Native flora and fauna, together with the wetlands that have always characterized the margins of the rivers, can naturally collaborate with the Riachuelo to decontaminate and support the river in times of flood, as well as improve the quality of life of people. How to act on abandonment? The reuse of open or closed spaces, abandoned or dedicated to an improper function, such as the ownership of the Siam industry or the cemeteries for cars, will allow the beginnings of the Conca Matanza Riachuelo to regain possession of places essential for aggregation and common goods.
