According to Global data on visual impairments 2010 by WHO, China has the largest population of visually impaired in the world, nearly one in five Chineses are visually impaired. About 8.2 million Chineses are totally blind, and around 67.3 million Chineses are suffer- ing from low vision. [1] Currently, the most frequent education and career support from China Disabled Person’s Federation is the blind mas- sage. Chinese blind massage has come from traditional Chinese medicine treat- ment: acupuncture and tuina, it is a gen- tle medical treatment method for mus- cular pain and illness which has existed for more than 4 thousand years[2], since the blind person have more sensitive tactile sense and only have two or three month’s massage education, most of the blind could go to blind massage shop and have the ability to earn the money, Chinese government began to advocate and educate blind massage to the blind, and blind massage become their typi- cal livelihood, more than 90% of overall blind worker are blind masseurs. Now the blind massage shops are very common in China, a lot of blind masseurs could at least maintain their existence by themselves. However, because most of the blind masseurs are undereducated, they don’t have much management and business knowledge and they also don’t know how to adver- tise, many of them even know little about the government preferential policy, which leads to many problems. By noticing those problems of blind mas- seurs and investigating the pain points in the blind massage industry, this thesis tends to design a service system for the Chinese blind massage store, to improve blind masseurs’ life quality.
