e-PLATE. Every dish has its own story to be told. Food design that fosters sustainable development

The thesis project starts from an appeal launched to all the “Italic sleepers” who have to rediscover themselves. This awareness takes place thanks to an Italic ambassador, the artist Lucio Fontana, with the help of chef Massimo Bottura. They, through the interactive dish e-PLATE, will bring the Italic to the rediscovery of the lost Italicity. The e-PLATE thesis project, therefore, shows up as a food design product that also covers issues about Sustainable Development, reaffirming the social and environmental responsibility of art and design.

Il progetto di tesi parte da un appello lanciato a tutti gli “italici dormienti” che devono riscoprirsi tali. Questa presa di coscienza avviene grazie ad un ambasciatore italico, l’artista Lucio Fontana, con l’aiuto dello chef Massimo Bottura. Essi, tramite il piatto interattivo e-PLATE, porteranno l’italico alla riscoperta dell’italicità perduta. Il progetto di tesi e-PLATE si presenta dunque come un prodotto di food design che spazia anche i temi dello sviluppo sostenibile ribadendo la responsabilità sociale e ambientale dell’arte e del design.
