Natural ventilation is the best system to be provided to historical buildings as a passive cooling. In this thesis the Scirocco Room of Villa Naselli-Ambleri has been analysed. The system has been modelled and simulated through a pseudo-transient simulation on Ansys Fluent. CFD analysis is a very powerful tool to read and understand this kind of systems. The knowledge of such a construction and operating principles is particularly important to re-discover the forgotten “places of delight” that are a fundamental element in Palermo history and culture. Furthermore, preservation and reuse of surviving rooms represent a useful way to understand a simple passive cooling system whose principles could be reproduced in a contemporary way in modern buildings intended for a valid and functional energetic control.
La ventilazione naturale è il miglior sistema di raffrescamento passivo che si possa avere negli edifici storici. In questa tesi verrà analizzato il caso della camera dello Scirocco di Villa Naselli-Ambleri. Il sistema è stato modellato e simulato con ANSYS fluent. Il linguaggio CFD è un'arma molto potente per leggere e capire questo tipo di sistemi. La conoscenza di questo modello e i suoi principi operativi sono molto importanti per riscoprire "luoghi di piacere" quasi del tutto dimenticati a Palermo.Inoltre il mantenimento e il riutilizzo delle camere dello Scirocco rimaste rappresentano un modo molto utile di capire il raffrescamento passivo i cui principi potrebbero essere ripresi e introdotti in edifici moderni.
