2037 : A space odyssey. Dynamic interventions in Città Studi

Città Studi, as an essential district in Milan, whose history could trace back to 1860s and in which way Città Studi’s transition was affected by Milan city's urbanization and in some measure could be seen as a result of Milan's development and expansion. In recent years, Città Studi has been facing a series of issues and challenges, especially the decision to move to Rho. This movement was resisted by the majority of public since ‘it’s just to fill the cap of EXPO site both economically and geographically’. Even though there are great amount of opponents and opposing voices, a decision has been made. This project aims at investigating the future of Città Studi with a dynamic perspective, in which way the whole Milan’s urban fabric, history and transition would be studied as context and reference. What can we do to fill the ‘gap’ when Città Studi moves to Rho?

Città Studi, un quartiere essenziale di Milano, la cui storia potrebbe risalire al 1860 e in che modo la transizione di Città Studi fu influenzata dall'urbanizzazione della città di Milano e in qualche misura poteva essere vista come il risultato dello sviluppo e dell'espansione di Milano. Negli ultimi anni, Città Studi ha dovuto affrontare una serie di problemi e sfide, in particolare la decisione di trasferirsi a Rho. Questo movimento è stato resistito dalla maggioranza del pubblico in quanto "è solo per riempire il limite del sito EXPO sia economicamente che geograficamente". Anche se ci sono molti avversari e voci opposte, è stata presa una decisione. Questo progetto mira a indagare il futuro di Città Studi in una prospettiva dinamica, in modo che il tessuto urbano, la storia e la transizione dell'intera Milano vengano studiati come contesto e riferimento. Cosa possiamo fare per colmare il "divario" quando Città Studi si trasferisce a Rho?
