MuToc. Museo del cioccolato di Torino : nuova identità culturale urbana

Inspired by a competition notice, the intervention was carried out on an old industrial building, demolished for the reconstruction of a Museum of the Chocolate for the city of Turin. After creating an urban gallery as the compositional fulcrum of the building, it was decided to deal with a block for the educational part (Cocoa Museum and on the upper foor laboratories), and a block for a more playful part (mixed bar-bookshop with conference room and as well as spa with cocoa treatments on the upper foor). Stylistically and compositionally, the project is shown as a continuous game between the previous industrial soul and the new museum, image that, urbanistically, tries to relate to the Torinese baroque urban context with soft landscape forms.

Ispirato a un bando di concorso, l’intervento è stato attuato su un vecchio edificio industriale, demolito per la ricostruzione di un Museo del Cioccolato per la città di Torino. Dopo aver creato una galleria urbana come fulcro compositivo dell’edifcio, si è deciso di trattare un blocco per la parte educativa (Museo del Cacao e al piano sovrastante laboratori) e un blocco per una parte più ludica (bar-bookshop con sala conferenze annessa, oltre a spa con trattamenti al cacao al piano superiore). Stilisticamente e compositivamente, il progetto è presentato come un gioco continuo tra la precedente anima industriale e la nuova immagine museale che, urbanisticamente, tenta, con forme paesaggistiche morbide, di relazionarsi al contesto urbano barocco torinese.
