Abstract This paper aims to pay attention to the un organized urban growth in the city of Amman in Jordan especially in refugees camps , focusing on Palestinian refugees camps in the city , showing the contradiction in quality of space in between , understanding the present resilience status of the city , and how the future urban strategies are affecting camps especially that they are excluded from these improvements, using architecture as a tool to provide solutions to the permanent residents in the camp, understanding Physiological and spatial dimension of refugees in the capital. In the beginning , the research is analyzing the history of immigration to these places , where did people come from towards Amman ? How the economical , social and political aspects work within ? At first camps had a temporary purpose ; hosting refugees and providing shelters for them , where the right of return played a part in returning Palestinians back to their origins , later on it became a permanent resident to them , nowadays it hosts even more people such as Syrian refugees suffering from the same issue . Meanwhile the urban planning keeps in progress never the less refugees camps are not considered as a part of the municipalities priority causing a misbalance in the urbanization , especially that refugees camps are located in the heart of the Jordanian capital , Amman . Jabal Hussein camp was selected as a case study , where the immigration of Palestinians to Jordan due to the Arabian- Israeli war in 1948 began, settling in jabal Al Hussein , in Al Abdali district which is to be one of the historical districts in Jordan, establishing their own community within the capital , understanding the local context , urban displacement , and how can architecture be used as a tool to improve space and socio-economical quality . I would like to notify , this research does not have political indicatives once so ever , it’s a tool to understand the current situation to provide urban, landscape , environmental and architectural solution .
Questo documento mira a prestare attenzione alla crescita urbana non organizzata nella città di Amman in Giordania, in particolare nei campi profughi, concentrandosi sui campi profughi palestinesi in città, mostrando la contraddizione nella qualità dello spazio nel mezzo, comprendendo l'attuale stato di resilienza del città e in che modo le future strategie urbane stanno influenzando i campi, in particolare il fatto che sono esclusi da questi miglioramenti, usando l'architettura come strumento per fornire soluzioni ai residenti permanenti nel campo, comprendendo la dimensione fisiologica e spaziale dei rifugiati nella capitale. All'inizio, la ricerca sta analizzando la storia dell'immigrazione in questi luoghi, da dove provengono le persone verso Amman? Come funzionano gli aspetti economici, sociali e politici? All'inizio i campi avevano uno scopo temporaneo; accogliendo i rifugiati e fornendo loro rifugi, dove il diritto al ritorno ha contribuito a riportare i palestinesi alle loro origini, in seguito è diventato loro residente permanente, oggi ospita ancora più persone come i rifugiati siriani che soffrono della stessa questione. Nel frattempo la pianificazione urbana continua a progredire, tuttavia i campi per rifugiati non vengono considerati parte della priorità dei comuni, causando uno squilibrio nell'urbanizzazione, in particolare che i campi per rifugiati si trovano nel cuore della capitale giordana, Amman. Il campo di Jabal Hussein è stato selezionato come caso di studio, dove il iniziò l'immigrazione di palestinesi in Giordania a causa della guerra arabo-israeliana del 1948, stabilendosi nel jabal Al Hussein, nel distretto di Al Abdali, che sarà uno dei distretti storici della Giordania, stabilendo la propria comunità all'interno della capitale, comprendendo il contesto locale , lo spostamento urbano e come l'architettura può essere utilizzata come strumento per migliorare lo spazio e la qualità socio-economica. Vorrei informarlo, questa ricerca non ha mai avuto indicatori politici, è uno strumento per comprendere la situazione attuale per fornire una soluzione urbana, paesaggistica, ambientale e architettonica
