In the last several years, much interest has been placed upon the topic of estimating space-time rainfall intensities from attenuation level experienced along fixed terrestrial line-of-sight commercial microwave links. Since the relationship that describes the dependence between the attenuation and the rainfall intensity is non-linear, the reconstruction of the rainfall field from heterogeneous frequency links measurements appears to be extremely complex. In this thesis, the HF-algorithm, that overcomes these obstacles, is presented. The algorithm was applied to the measurements obtained from six links located in province of Treviso, five operating at 25 GHz and one 17 GHz. The results are validated by comparing the values obtained from the reconstructed maps with those obtained from the maps created by applying the interpolation method to the rain gauge measurements.

Abstract
The results are validated by comparing the values obtained from the reconstructed maps with those obtained from the maps created by applying the interpolation method to the rain gauge measurements.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
