Rotomolding polycarbonate using traditional machines generates porosities on the molded parts. In the thesis, are used a machine and a mold that allow to control process’ parameters and reduce these defects. The work proposes a study in order to understand and reduce the porosities through a design of experiments. The process’ fundamental principles are analyzed and associated to machine’s controlled parameters, this is to obtain the best combination allowing to build a cycle able to minimize porosities on the pieces. The combination reduces substantially the problem, it is accepted from the industrial reality and brings improvements to the actual state of the art. Moreover, some additional trials on a different mold are developed in order to verify the porosity reduction on the part. Eventually, molders are provided with insights to support porosity reduction of the pieces.

Abstract
Eventually, molders are provided with insights to support porosity reduction of the pieces.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
