Abstract
Historically, what did characterize peoples and cultures was their belonging to a geographical territory: nation, state, city. Today the characterizing factors and the way of aggregation of the communities have radically evolved: just think of the glocalization or the growing mobility processes underway. If it is not possible to choose the land on which you are born, or who generated you, you can instead choose your way to belong. The idea is theorized by Bassetti, according to which the Italians "are not just Italian citizens in Italy and abroad. They are also the Ticinese, the Dalmatians and their descendants, the Sammarinese, the Italian-Americans, those of the two Americas and of Australia, as well as the Italian-speakers and all those who, without having any kinship or Italian ancestry, have nevertheless embraced values, lifestyles and models shared in our country". This research aims to rediscover the Italic values and rituals of the sensuality of our country. The sensuality of the landscapes, of the value of food seen as a relationship tool, of the cult of beauty; of memory, of the art of seduction and exploration and much more. Sensuality is reinterpreted through new products and Italic installations that bring stories and messages with them. After defining the Italic sensuality and all the values and characteristics associated with it, the research shifts to the reinterpretation of these themes in a contemporary context and with an approach that could be defined as "ironic" and playful. An Italic work that ranges in the fields of fashion, design and craftsmanship, and so on, is the result of a profound cultural matrix that goes well beyond the external appearance of the objects. Each work has a historical aura that is deeply connected and influenced by the beauty and glamour that surrounds Italians every day, evident in landscapes, art, sculpture, literature, poetry, and rituals. The objective is to transfer the concept of Italian sensuality into a line of products and installations that is an experience of the Italic world at the same time sensual and ironic. Each project is the result of deep research and analysis of a specific aspect or ritual of the Italic experience and of its world of sensuality, and of the narrative that derives from it. The entire collection is based on this theme and tends to narrate the concept of approach to life with an innate instinct for sensuality and glamour, typical of Italians.
