Antonini rehabilitation center. Preservation of former psychiatric hospital

The thesis Antonini’s Rehabilitation Center situates in the area of Mombello in the province of Limbiate. The thesis is standing upon the project of ERIS foundation: Umberto Fazzone and tries to create the contemporary rehabilitation center, which offers therapies, on the territory of formal Psychiatric Hospital. Thesis preserves the functions assigned in Umberto Fazzone project for the majority of buildings on the territory. However, the interest area of this thesis is less than the whole territory of the complex itself. With the adaptive reuse of several existing buildings, it is also planned to implement new structures, like closed paddock for horses, small café building, small architectural forms, and pavement action. Due to the very dense greenery level in the area and interesting terrain, the project aims to mainly preserve it and include a landscaping approach on the eastern part of the hill.

La tesi del Centro di riabilitazione di Antonini si trova nell'area di Mombello nella provincia di Limbiate. La tesi si basa sul progetto della fondazione ERIS: Umberto Fazzone e cerca di creare il centro di riabilitazione contemporaneo, che offre terapie, sul territorio dell'ospedale psichiatrico formale. La tesi conserva le funzioni assegnate al progetto Umberto Fazzone per la maggior parte degli edifici sul territorio. Tuttavia, l'area di interesse di questa tesi è inferiore all'intero territorio del complesso stesso. Con il riutilizzo adattativo di diversi edifici esistenti, è inoltre prevista l'implementazione di nuove strutture, come paddock chiuso per cavalli, edificio di piccoli caffè, piccole forme architettoniche e azioni di pavimentazione. A causa del livello di vegetazione molto denso nell'area e del terreno interessante, il progetto mira principalmente a preservarlo e includere un approccio paesaggistico sulla parte orientale della collina.
