This thesis regards the analysis and control of a particular semi-active suspension system, mounted on the front axle of an orchard tractor. The vehicle has been conceived and built by the company Argotractors S.p.a., with whom this project has been realized. The aim of this new proposed suspensions' architecture is to exploit the potential of the semi-active suspensions, which provides the best trade-off between cost and performances, in order to reduce the vibrations induced by the vehicle and transmitted to the driver, thus increasing the general comfort. First of all, a general description of the experimental setup is presented, with a particular insight on the suspension layout and its capabilities. Then, some experimental tests have been carried out, executed while driving the vehicle in different situations, in order to acquire data so to allow a characterization of the suspensions behaviour, from the comfort point of view. An experimental controller has been then designed and tested on the vehicle, on the basis of the trade-off put in evidence by the previous analysis. In the end, a simulation model for the vehicle has been proposed.

An experimental controller has been then designed and tested on the vehicle, on the basis of the trade-off put in evidence by the previous analysis. In the end, a simulation model for the vehicle has been proposed.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
