With fast spreading space needs we have a need for more efficient and cost effective space technologies. Especially for the micro and nano satellites, which requires very small propulsive energies for maneuvering and satellite orbit keeping. A review towards such promising technologies which are being developed in micro propulsion are made and summarized. Micro thrusters in research are classified according to the type of propellant and the process through which its energies are extracted. Construction/testing processes, working principles and performances of the microthrusters are addressed. In addition, the advantages and the disadvantages of these microthrusters presented in the paper are discussed.

Abstract
With fast spreading space needs we have a need for more efficient and cost effective space technologies. Especially for the micro and nano satellites, which requires very small propulsive energies for maneuvering and satellite orbit keeping. A review towards such promising technologies which are being developed in micro propulsion are made and summarized. Micro thrusters in research are classified according to the type of propellant and the process through which its energies are extracted. Construction/testing processes, working principles and performances of the microthrusters are addressed. In addition, the advantages and the disadvantages of these microthrusters presented in the paper are discussed.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
