The development of control systems for lightweight structures has found in the use of piezoelectric actuators a valid tool for the attenuation of vibrations. The thesis work objective is to optimize the impedance of the electromechanical system in order to dampen the amplitude in resonance of a single mode. The optimization takes place through the use of single-mode models of vibration, obtained by means of modal analysis, and built considering the effect of the electrical and mechanical residuals of the modes of vibration neglected during the single-degree of freedom aproximation, and evaluate them performances in relation to the optimized controller obtained by means of a multimodal approach.

Abstract
The development of control systems for lightweight structures has found in the use of piezoelectric actuators a valid tool for the attenuation of vibrations. These actuators are composed by a piezoelectric device, glued on the mechanical structure, connected to an electrical circuit. In the case under consideration, the circuit’s made by a passive impedance, obtained through the connection of a resistance and an inductance. The thesis work objective is to optimize the impedance of the electromechanical system in order to dampen the amplitude in resonance of a single mode. The optimization takes place through the use of single-mode models of vibration, obtained by means of modal analysis, and built considering the effect of the electrical and mechanical residuals of the modes of vibration neglected during the single-degree of freedom aproximation, and evaluate them performances in relation to the optimized controller obtained by means of a multimodal approach.| File | Dimensione | Formato | |
