Temple of plastic at Maunsell forts

A city-based on utopian principles where the waste management is the main focus of the city livelihood is the near future. It will be a new society living on water due to sea-level rise, a society which is living with the mistakes of the ancestors. Temple of Plastic at Maunsell Forts is a temple, a connection to the past placed at the center of the new utopian city. It is an old metal structure that has stood through time, unharmed but touched by many. Stone shrines or Houses of worship are replaced by metal and plastic structures to show contrast and reminding the choices made. Plastic has made many inventions possible for the world making it necessary for both present and future, and now this material has been turning to a major part of the fossils of Anthropocene. The main focus of this thesis is on designing a sacred space that will influence others in coming future. The temple of plastic at Maunsell forts is presented as the precept of this era, plastic touching a sacred space for meditation.

Una città basata su principi utopici in cui la gestione dei rifiuti è il fulcro principale del sostentamento della città stessa, è il prossimo futuro. Una nuova società che abita sull'acqua a causa dell'innalzamento del livello del mare, una società che convive con gli errori dei propri antenati. Temple of Plastic at Maunsell forts è un tempio, un collegamento con il passato posto al centro della nuova città utopica. Si tratta di una vecchia struttura metallica che ha resistito nel tempo, illesa ma toccata da molti. I santuari di pietra o i percorsi di pellegrinaggio sono sostituiti da strutture in metallo e plastica per mostrare il contrasto e ricordare le scelte fatte. La plastica ha reso possibili molte invenzioni per il mondo, rendendole necessarie sia per il presente che per il futuro, e ora questo materiale si è convertito in gran parte dei fossili dell'Antropocene. Il focus principale di questa tesi è la progettazione di questo spazio sacro che possa che possa avere un'influenza sul future. Temple of Plastic at Maunsell forts viene presentato come precetto di quest'epoca, la plastica che incontra uno spazio sacro per la meditazione.
