In recent years, several of Germany’s trade profession industries have experienced shortages of qualified professionals. The problem is not only trade companies struggling to find qualified and aspiring employees, but furthermore, younger generations are not considering trade professions as career pathways. This research reveals that cur- rent career orientation fairs — specifically within the trade field — are not captivating the attention of young people, and are therefore unsuccess- ful in their aim to inspire young people towards trade professions. With a focus on the sanitary installation industry, the outcome of this thesis is a design proposal, combining an entertaining spatial experience - a trade pop-up escape room - with a strong service system that can fast-track the young individual to connect with companies, guilds and other educational opportunities. Bridg- ing the gap between young people and trade professions, with tailored and innovative engage- ment, the gameful adventure of Pressure Escape sets out support for trade companies, and to plant seeds of inspiration that could one day guide more young people to consider trade professions on their career pathway.

Abstract
Bridg- ing the gap between young people and trade professions, with tailored and innovative engage- ment, the gameful adventure of Pressure Escape sets out support for trade companies, and to plant seeds of inspiration that could one day guide more young people to consider trade professions on their career pathway.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
