Abstract
The Temple of the Nomads, is a heterotopic living space. It offers itself for the nomads; people who dwell the city unanchored, the wanderers, the travellers, and the seekers in a rapidly growing world where the demand has never been higher for living spaces in urban areas. The project allows for self-expression and the creation of relationships with the inhabited spaces through the analysis of daily needs resulting in interconnected pods. Although formally the pods present themselves as futuristic, in reality, they are primitive, utilitarian objects aiming to develop a vision of reproducibility and stacking, adapting to constant transformation and appearing in times of crisis. Scattered around the city, they create a physical network and a sense of community infiltrating the urban spaces and creating a new Heterotopia. While many living models have emerged with the aid of technology in recent years, very few have tackled the essential issue of affordability. Using a structural system that can be assembled and reassembled, the project offers flexibility and affordability of living through the possibility of space. True modern digital nomads are the main characters of this soundless sensorial experience where the invisible and non-physical are a fundamental part of their lives. A hidden gem emerging between the voids of crowded cities, the Temple of the Nomads is a place of free choice where people create their lifestyles. Creating these spaces with their various forms results in an invisible architecture influencing the surrounding environment. The pods connect, with each one being an organism in and of itself, creating a community of interlinked individuals. The collisions of these chaotic bodies, merging and overlapping, create a possibility of different spaces for events. These occurrences help the new community become part of the public realm. As these structures grow into the city, the architecture becomes a Heterotopic organism, mutating and redefining landscapes and societal norms, making us stop and reflect within the space and its characteristics.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
