Worldwide demand for freight transport is constantly increasing, the expansion of road infrastructure is severely limited and the road sector itself is characterized by high levels of greenhouse gas emissions. To overcome these problems over the years, some improvements have been taken into account both on the vehicle side and as regards the "collaboration of vehicles", that is the platoon of vehicles. This has the potential to reduce transportation costs and emissions by increasing traffic flow and safety. Among the main objectives of the formation of the platoon we find that of reducing fuel consumption and therefore greenhouse gas emissions. The present thesis work poses as a question the search for a formulation that can express the quantity of fuel saved by a pair of traveling trucks in training: truck platooning. The formulation was addressed using the least squares method starting from data present in the literature. The results of the model reflect the real cases and it will be possible to expand this study by considering further cases. Furthermore, ideas and questions are raised on possible future applications that can verify or improve the fuel economy situation.

Abstract
Furthermore, ideas and questions are raised on possible future applications that can verify or improve the fuel economy situation.| File | Dimensione | Formato | |
