We live in times characterized by continuous innovations that modify culture, human behavior and the perception of what surrounds us. The museum, which has always been a place of cultural landmark of fundamental importance, is also involved in this change: new objectives to be achieved and new challenges to be faced are born. The museum today is a complex institution that welcomes new roles and goes beyond its traditional boundaries, acquiring a virtual identity and transforming itself into a space where not only cultural heritage and artworks are preserved and enhanced, but also experiences, emotions and ideas. This thesis therefore arises from the desire to investigate how digital culture is reshaping the concept of the contemporary museum, analyzing the role of visual communication in this field and, more specifically, the deep bond developed between public and the museum. The museum experience today is enriched with innovative practices designed to share culture in a global and widespread way, further involving visitors and inviting them to experiment, interact and become an active part of the system. Is it possible to communicate the museum offer and make it more attractive and engaging? How to deepen the connection with visitors and make them an integral part of the system? From these two questions this analysis developed which allowed me to explore the opportunities of the scientific museum context of Milan and to define guidelines for the digital communication of the cultural experience. Based on these practices, I then outlined a design method to enrich the museum experience using a visitor-driven approach in which the user guides his cognitive and educational path through a direct personalization of the experience, immersing himself in the museum reality and becoming the author of his personal way of reading the museum. This system will be applied to a selection of science-themed museums in Milan, with the aim of outlining a format capable of creating new dynamic and lasting connections over time.

Abstract
This system will be applied to a selection of science-themed museums in Milan, with the aim of outlining a format capable of creating new dynamic and lasting connections over time.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
