Nowadays, the main trend regarding logistics concerns the outsourcing of activities related to this business area to 3PLs. In this way, every company on the supply chain can focus more and more on its core business becoming a specialist in its industry. It thus becomes fundamental, for a 3PL, to be efficient and effective in delivering to all its customers logistics services. This also allows the supply chain to work as a metronome, to track and trace all flows and to be compliant with all norms and laws of the logistics industry. This thesis aims to describe the environment, made of a high number of constraints on the use of resources, and the strategic importance of introducing a scalable and easily integrable software with many functionalities in a 3PL company. The environment described will be the input of the software. Two perspectives are adopted to address the description of the problem: that of a generic 3PL and that of the specific case Brivio&Viganò, a 3PL that serves different types of industry including retail. The twofold perspectives are adopted to better contextualize the problem both from a theoretical and practical point of view. The scalability and integrability of the software are fundamental since the information from the tool will be exploited, over time, by all 3PL customers and all their supply chains. The software will allow for easier communication and coordination between firms. In fact, the final objective of the software, common to all the functionalities, is the efficient and effective orchestration of all the logistic flows of the various actors in their supply chains.

Abstract
In fact, the final objective of the software, common to all the functionalities, is the efficient and effective orchestration of all the logistic flows of the various actors in their supply chains.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
