Soglie architettoniche. Riconnettere la città e il porto. Progetto di un terminal per pullman e crociere giornaliere a San Giovanni - La Caletta

The town of La Caletta, district of Siniscola, and the touristic port that this municipality shares with the most famous Posada, are nowadays two different realities that do not establish links with each other. The project aims to elaborate a proposal that starting from the willing to connect the city and the port, develops a strategy of cohesion between the parts in both urban and architectural scales. For this reason, identifying in this relationship a constant presence of heterogeneous urban thresholds, it has been decided to face this reality with the proposal of a functionality that represents itself a typical threshold, the terminal, recognizing a great opportunity and potentiality in what is currently a critical issue of the place. On this basis, the thesis proposes a unitary project consisting of a linear park which links together the existing blocks, the new square of the port, the breakwater pier and the architecture of the newly built terminal, with the ultimate aim of creating an internal progression of spaces that connect the port reality with the heterogeneous urban thresholds existing today on the site.

L’abitato di La Caletta, frazione di Siniscola, e il porto turistico che quest’ultimo comune gestisce con la più nota e vicina Posada, sono ad oggi due realtà distinte, quasi a se stanti, che non instaurano alcun legame particolare l’una con l’altra. Il progetto intende elaborare una proposta che partendo dall’assunto di riconnettere la città con il porto, sviluppi una strategia di coesione tra le parti a scala sia urbana che architettonica. Per questa ragione, identificando in tale rapporto una costante presenza di eterogenee soglie urbane, si è deciso di far fronte a tale realtà con la proposta di una funzionalità che rappresenti essa stessa una soglia tipica, ovvero il terminal, riconoscendo in quella che ad oggi si manifesta come una criticità del luogo, una grande occasione e potenzialità. A partire da ciò, la tesi propone un progetto unitario costituito da un parco lineare il quale lega insieme gli isolati esistenti, la nuova piazza del porto, il molo di sottoflutto e l’architettura del terminal di nuova costruzione, con il fine ultimo di creare una progressione interna di spazi che vadano a connettere la realtà portuale con le eterogenee soglie urbane ad oggi esistenti sul luogo.
