In this report, an investigation of redesigning the traditional food supply chain in developing countries is conducted in the context of sustainability and key concepts about the short food supply chain. As a major portion of the population is connected with farming and due to information asymmetry and unfair distribution of revenue along the traditional supply chain, farmer share is much less. To find some sustainable business model, case studies of 3 startups active in India, are carried out. From it came to know, by adopting technology and historical data along the supply chain while increasing the relational & informational proximities between farmers and customers, different types of sustainable short food supply chain models can potentially bring to an increase in the revenue of farmers with a positive impact on society. In the end, this report proposes a set of research questions that sets the direction for future researches.
In questo report viene condotta un'indagine sulla riprogettazione della supply chain alimentare nei paesi in via di sviluppo, facendo leva sulla sostenibilità e sui concetti chiave della filiera alimentare corta. Poiché gran parte della popolazione è collegata all'agricoltura e, a causa dell'asimmetria informativa e della distribuzione sleale delle entrate lungo la catena di approvvigionamento tradizionale, la quota degli agricoltori è molto inferiore. Per trovare un modello di business sostenibile, vengono condotti casi di studio di 3 startup attive in India. Da ciò è emerso che, adottando la tecnologia e i dati storici lungo la supply chain, aunmentando al contempo le prossimità relazionali e informative tra agricoltori e clienti, diversi tipi di modelli sostenibili di filiera alimentare corta possono portare a un aumento delle entrate degli agricoltori con un impatto positivo sulla società. Alla fine, questo report propone una serie di domande di ricerca con l’obiettivo di orientare ricerche future.
