The purpose of this thesis is to measure the diameter of cylindrical forgings in the production line. This goal has been achieved through the use of a proposed method, which processes the data acquired from 8 scans of as many portions of the lateral profile of the surface, rotated 45° between each other. The method uses a single triangulation laser scanner that scans the profile on a plane orthogonal to the geometry axis. The method proposed returns the diameter, in the absence of a Set Up with controlled positioning, highlighting the possibility of solving any eccentricity errors via software

Abstract
The purpose of this thesis is to measure the diameter of cylindrical forgings in the production line. This goal has been achieved through the use of a proposed method, which processes the data acquired from 8 scans of as many portions of the lateral profile of the surface, rotated 45° between each other. The method uses a single triangulation laser scanner that scans the profile on a plane orthogonal to the geometry axis. The method proposed returns the diameter, in the absence of a Set Up with controlled positioning, highlighting the possibility of solving any eccentricity errors via softwareFile | Dimensione | Formato | |
