GENESI E SVILUPPO DEL GIARDINO ROMANTICO IN RUSSIA: L'ESEMPIO DI PAVLOVSK

The peculiarities of the romantic garden will be highlighted, in the writing of the thesis, following the historical - imperial and artistic scan of Russia. We will start from the figure of Peter I who reigned from 1721 to 1725 and who promoted the art of the garden as an instrument of education and cultural enhancement. We will proceed with the figure of Catherine II (who reigned from 1762 to 1796) and her role in the genesis of the romantic garden in St. Petersburg. It will end with the figure of Maria Fedorovna, wife of Paul I, who governed from 1796 to 1801 and who guided the construction and development of the Pavlovsk park in every detail.

Le peculiarità del giardino romantico saranno evidenziate, nella stesura della tesi, seguendo la scansione storico - imperiale ed artistica della Russia. Si partirà dalla figura di Pietro I che regnò dal 1721 al 1725 e che promosse l’arte del giardino come uno strumento di educazione e di innalzamento culturale. Si procederà con la figura di Caterina II (che regnò dal 1762 al 1796) e il suo ruolo nella genesi del giardino romantico a San Pietroburgo. Si concluderà con la figura di Maria Fedorovna, moglie di Paolo I, che governò dal 1796 al 1801 e che guidò la realizzazione e lo sviluppo del parco di Pavlovsk in ogni suo dettaglio.
