Las Mercedes Gastronomic Hub is a project that seek to enhance Venezuelan food culture by giving local informal businesses a place to develop, overlook to the future and be able to transmit to its visitors the gastronomic and cultural traditions that Caraqueños have acquire through time. The proposal recognize the historical past of the place where is located, recalling the most important architectural elements from the site surroundings. The scheme of 3 elements (a pitched roof, a tower and a new green area) connected by a central axis, is an answer to the public space and green areas need of the capital. Offering the city a space to breathe, and new possibilities for the locals. The project lays on the fact that nowadays private buildings with no public spaces considerations have proliferated in the area, limiting leisure, cultural and meeting spaces from spreading. Part of the Venezuelan recent years architecture has been shaded by the immediate necessities of the country, but now is the time to start thinking about the future in different ways, where quality of life is enhanced.
Las Mercedes Gastronomic Hub é un progetto che cerca di migliorale lo scenario attuale della cultura gastronomica nel Venezuela, offrendo alle imprese informali locali un luogo in cui svilupparsi, e poter trasmettere ai suoi visitatori le tradizioni gastronomiche e culturali che i Caraqueños hanno acquisito nel tempo. La proposta riconosce il passato storico del luogo in cui si trova, richiamando gli elementi architettonici più importanti dai dintorni del sito. Lo schema di 3 elementi (un tetto spiovente, una torre e una nuova area verde) collegati da un asse centrale, è una risposta allo spazio pubblico e alle aree verdi necessarie alla capitale. Offre alla città un nuovo spazio per respirare e nuove possibilità per i locali. Il progetto si basa sul fatto che oggigiorno gli edifici privati senza considerazioni di spazi pubblici si sono moltiplicati nell'area, limitando la diffusione di spazi ricreativi, culturali e di incontro. Parte dell'architettura venezuelana degli ultimi anni è stata oscurata dalle necessità immediate del paese, ma ora è il momento di iniziare a pensare al futuro in diversi modi, in cui la qualità della vita è migliorata.
