LODI CULTURAL HUB Urban, landscape and architectural recovery and innovation of the Linen and Hemp Factory in Lodi. The area of project is located near the center of the city of Lodi and the railway station. It deals with the Linen and Hemp factory (ex Linificio e Canapificio Nazionale) of Lodi, also known as "il fabricòn", is a building that has been defined as one of the "most significant examples of the factory of the early 1900s in Lombard territory ". A restoration was previously carried out in the west wing of the factory, which assumed the function of a set of public offices (Municipal technical office, agency of revenue and provincial school office). CULTURAL HUB The intent is to transform the remaining area, currently in a state of neglect and degradation in a large local cultural center, a new reference point for schools (middle and high schools) of the city of Lodi, thanks to an urban intervention that allows students to reach the area quickly and safely. New pedestrian and bike pathways crossings that allow students of the Don Milani middle school to reach the new pole, the redevelopment of the two subways on the east and west sides of the project area, gates joined to the two main axes: V. Nino D’alloro and V. Dionigi which connect the other school areas located in the historic center, and the various historical and cultural buildings of the city of Lodi. The the ground floor of the Linificio will therefore host the new classrooms (laboratories and theoretical classrooms) in the east wing of the three-year section of Scenography of the Liceo Artistico Callisto piazza, which is also a building part of the historic Linificio and renovated over the years and an Auditorium (basement floor) that will host artistic and school theatrical events. In the west wing, however, the new headquarters of the"Consortium for Artisan and Professional Education and Training" with professional laboratories and theoretical didactic classrooms, and a large municipal archive, in order to reserve the goods historical and cultural heritage. The upper floor of the Linificio, equipped with a large space, will include a museum of contemporary art, equipped with PERMANENT EXIBITION, linked to tradition, dedicated to the history of Linen and Hemp, and artistic workshops to allow the city to host artists relevant internationally. The artists will also be able to stay in the ART CABINS site within the project area near the railway station. The museum also has one floating special exibition: "The Cube". It deals with of a parallelepiped glass structure positioned at a height of about 28m, capable of becoming the new one cultural identification symbol, it is connected to the structure of the building through a mesh metallic, inspired by the structure and dimensions of the historic Fabricòn and the imposing height of the chimney. It will host the temporary exhibition, reachable thanks to a linear WALKAWAY TECHNOLOGY, which crosses the new and vast GREEN AREA, where you can immerse yourself in the natural and landscape history of the city, rich in flax and hemp plantations, historically present near the famous Adda Sud Park, adjacent to the Adda River. Thanks to presence of the new green area and the technology of smog free towers (city trees) present in the structure of the technological walkway, reduction can be provided of air pollution, a feature that unfortunately hit the city in the twentieth century, ranking second among the most polluted cities in Lombardy thanks to the data provided by ARPA. The technological walkaway therefore becomes the emblem of a philosophical link between past, present and future of the city of Lodi, the link between man, nature, architecture, between memory, sustainability and culture.

LODI CULTURAL HUB Recupero ed innovazione urbanistica, paesaggistica e architettonico dell’ex Linificio e Canapificio di Lodi L’area di progetto è localizzata nei pressi del centro della città di Lodi e della stazione ferroviaria. Si tratta dell’ex Linificio e Canapificio di Lodi, noto anche come «il fabricòn », è un edificio che è stato definito come uno degli esempi «maggiormente significativi della fabbrica dei primi anni del ‘900 in territorio Lombardo». Un intervento di restauro è stato precedente effettuato nell’ala ovest della fabbrica, che ha assunto la funzione di insieme di uffici pubblici (Ufficio tecnico comunale, agenzia delle entrate e ufficio scolastico provinciale). CULTURAL HUB L’intento è quello di trasformare la restante area, attualmente in stato di abbandono e degrado in un grande polo culturale locale, nuovo punto di riferimento per gli istituti scolastici ( scuole medie e superiori) della città di Lodi, grazie ad un intervento urbano che consente agli studenti di raggiungere l’area in breve tempo e in massima sicurezza. Nuovi attraversamenti pedonali che consentono agli studenti della scuole medie Don Milani di raggiungere il nuovo polo, la riqualificazione dei due sottopassaggi presenti ai lati est e ovest dell’area di progetto, varchi uniti ai due assi principali : V. Nino D’alloro e V. Dionigi che collegano le altre aree scolastiche site nel centro storico, ed i vari edifici storico culturali della città di Lodi. Il piano terra del Linificio ospiterà quindi, nell’ala est, le nuove aule (laboratori e aule teoriche) della sezione triennale di Scenografia del Liceo Artistico Callisto piazza, edificio anch’esso facente parte dello storico Linificio e ristrutturato negli anni e un Auditorium (piano seminterrato) che potrà ospitare eventi teatrali artistici e scolastici. Nell’ala ovest invece sarà presente la nuova sede del «Consorzio Per l’istruzione e la formazione Artigiana e Professionale» dotata di laboratori professionali e aule teorico didattiche, e un grande archivio comunale, per poter conservare i beni storici e culturali della città. Il piano superiore del Linificio, dotato di un ampio spazio, includerà un museo di Arte contemporanea, dotato di PERMANENT EXIBITION , legata alla tradizione, dedicata alla storia del Lino e della Canapa, e dei laboratori artistici per permettere alla città di ospitare artisti rilevanti a livello internazionale. Gli artisti potranno inoltre alloggiare nelle ART CABINS site all’interno dell’area di progetto nelle vicinanze della stazione ferroviaria. Il museo inoltre prevede un museo speciale fluttuante:The Cube". Si tratta di un parallelepipedo in vetro posizionata all’altezza di circa 28m, atta a diventare il nuovo simbolo identificativo culturale, è collegata alla struttura dell’edificio tramite una maglia reticolare metallica, ispirata alla struttura e alle dimensioni dello storico Fabricòn e dall’imponente altezza della ciminiera. Ospiterà la temporary exibition , raggiungibile grazie ad una lineare PASSERELLA TECNOLOGICA , che attraversa la nuova e vasta GREEN AREA , in cui è possibile immergersi nella storia naturale e paesaggistica della città, ricca di piantagioni di lino e canapa, storicamente presenti nei pressi del famoso Parco Adda Sud, adiacente al fiume Adda. Grazie alla presenza della nuova green area e alla tecnologia delle smog free towers (city trees ) presenti nella struttura della passerella tecologica , si può provvedere alla riduzione dell’inquinamento atmosferico, caratteristica che purtroppo ha colpito la città nel XX secolo, classificandosi seconda tra le città più inquinate della Lombardia grazie i dati forniti dall’ARPA. La passerella tecnologica quindi diviene l’emblema di un legame filosofico tra passato, presente e futuro della città di Lodi, il legame tra uomo, natura, architettura, tra memoria, sostenibilità e cultura.
