Abstract
The level of integration with other energy sources is growing for district heating networks, especially thermal prosumers are on the rise. The purpose of this thesis has been to further develop and test a Multi Energy System model for investment and operational optimisation. This latter problem is modelled as a mixed integer linear programming (MILP) and was developed in LEAP. The study introduces a new method for heat loss calculation of the thermal network, which is derived from the real physical phenomenon of losses along the network pipes. A case study was used to investigate the influence of heat losses in the optimization process. The district chosen for the simulation is the University campus of Parma. The optimization results showed a considerable difference from the formulation of the original model regarding the solar heating panels installation, moreover the proposed heat loss model indicate an increase in the interconnection between different parts of the district.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
