The purpose of this work is to review scientific publications on the field of international business, more specifically in the role new technologies have in business internationalization within the context of Covid-19 pandemic of 2020. By analyzing the extant literature, directions for future research are proposed to close the existent gaps. The work begins with an introduction to the topics, by explaining the main components of firms’ internationalization through cross-border e-commerce (CBEC), considering the characteristics of entry mode selection and the description of CBEC as alternative. New technologies are described (Big Data & Analytics, Artificial Intelligence, Mobile Payments, Internet of Things and, Blockchain). Covid-19 pandemic context is introduced by explaining the current macroeconomic and trade situation and 2021 forecast, and how e-commerce has played a central role in economics during the worst part of the pandemic during the first semester of 2020. A three-step methodology is implemented to perform the literature review, first defining the topic, the tools used in the research, definition of the inclusion or elimination criteria. This literature review consists in 65 papers published from 2011 to 2020 in scientific journals and proceedings of international conferences, found in bibliographic data bases and science search engines. Then the second stage consist in the scrutiny of the main features of the articles which were defined as the year, the nationality of the author and, the methodology used. In this stage a deep analysis about the themes addressed is performed, by realizing first a classification of the papers by type of contribution (theory or practice) and the field or area of applicability (strategy, marketing and sales, logistics and supply chain). Finally a three step analysis consisting in themes (Internationalization, covid-19, new technologies), categories ((strategy, marketing and sales, logistics and supply chain) and sub-themes, lead to a deep analysis of the contributions found to the topics studied. The findings of this work show that there are no contributions that addresses the influence of new technologies in firms' internationalization in the context of Covid-19 pandemic. Two research streams are proposed, and specific themes as road map for future investigation.
