The thesis aims to provide information about the decrease in greenery its impacts, current state and a possible future while involving literature reviews that span in different disciplines. The goal is two-fold: first, our commitment to prove that Milan could have a future of cohabitation and biodiversity and second to create a clear relationship between architecture, humans and experience because we believe that this is what architecture is all about. The thesis offers ideas for a potential future for the city of Milan offering proposals for the remediation of the site and further elaborating the project for an Olympics Village housing and later a students housing complex in the city. Our strategy is to try to combine a park with urbanism and to respect the urban industrial morphology of the city. The goal is to transform a rail yard from an urban barrier into an urban green connector. The thesis is focused on bringing back the time when nature was the main element and returning the memory into the whole city. It is as well organized into three parts: PAST – elaborating the history of the city, impacts and experience of people, PRESENT- elaborating the current state of the city and FUTURE – proposing a relevant project which would enhance the state of living in Milan.
La tesi mira a fornire informazioni sulla diminuzione del verde, i suoi impatti, lo stato attuale e un possibile futuro, coinvolgendo le revisioni della letteratura che abbracciano diverse discipline. L'obiettivo è duplice: primo, il nostro impegno per dimostrare che Milano potrebbe avere un futuro di convivenza e biodiversità e secondo per creare un chiaro rapporto tra architettura, uomo ed esperienza perché crediamo che questo sia l'architettura. La tesi propone spunti per un potenziale futuro per la città di Milano proponendo proposte per la bonifica del sito ed elaborando ulteriormente il progetto per un Villaggio Olimpico e successivamente un Complesso residenziale per studenti in città. La nostra strategia è cercare di combinare un parco con l'urbanistica e di rispettare la morfologia industriale urbana della città. L'obiettivo è trasformare uno scalo ferroviario da barriera urbana in connettore verde urbano. La tesi si concentra sul riportare indietro il tempo in cui la natura era l'elemento principale e restituire la memoria all'intera città. È anche organizzato in tre parti: PASSATO - che elabora la storia della città, impatti ed esperienza delle persone, PRESENTE - che elabora lo stato attuale della città e FUTURO - proponendo un progetto rilevante che valorizzerebbe lo stato dell'abitare a Milano.
