The master thesis ‘Design of a new road bridge over the Rhine river in Eglisau, Zurich, Switzerland’ was done in collaboration between Politecnico di Milano and ETH Zurich. The supervisor from the home university of Politecnico di Milano was Prof. Fabio Biondini and the supervision at the host university of ETH Zurich was conducted by Prof. Thomas Vogel, who teaches the course of bridge engineering and Mr. Fernando Ortiz his teaching assistant. The object of this master thesis was to deliver a preliminary structural design of a road bridge fulfilling the requirements regarding loads, spans, supports and connections. The basis for the design was taken from the actual bridge design competition which was ongoing at the time in canton Zurich.
La tesi di laurea dal titolo "Progettazione di un nuovo ponte stradale sul fiume Reno a Eglisau, Zurigo, Svizzera" è stata svolta in collaborazione tra il Politecnico di Milano e l'ETH di Zurigo. Il relatore presso l'università di provenienza (Politecnico di Milano) è il Prof. Fabio Biondini. I relatori presso presso l'niversità ospitante (ETH di Zurigo) sono il Prof. Thomas Vogel, docente Ponti, e il suo collaboratore Dr. Fernando Ortiz. L'obiettivo della tesi è lo sviluppo del progetto strutturale preliminare di un ponte stradale nell'ambito di un concorso di progettazione presso il cantone di Zurigo.
