In contemporary times, disrupting the balance of identity in historical contexts due to the introduction of modernism into traditional structures and the inability to adapt to one another has led to a decline in the quality of human presence in such environments. This has caused a variety of social, economic, physical, and cultural problems to occur in these contexts. These problems are complexly intertwined and the existence of one cause of the other and the solution of the one requires the solution of the other in parallel. This emphasizes the need for holistic intervention and action in these contexts. Urban redevelopment as the main policy of contemporary urban restoration with an integrated and comprehensive look at the issues, needs, and potentials of an urban context, improves its status and can, therefore, be the best option in these valuable areas. The ultimate goal of urban regeneration is to achieve a desirable and sustainable status in the socio-cultural, economic, and environmental dimensions of the social groups present. Historical contexts of Shiraz, like the historical area of Iran, has many potentials and values. But it also suffers from many problems that need for a comprehensive and holistic action to address these problems and to restore the forgotten and hidden values. Therefore, urban regeneration can be used to achieve this. What distinguishes Shiraz and its historic district from many of Iran's most valuable historical cities is the active presence of tourists and the continued in tourism, which can be viewed as the city's main potential for development. In this project, the particular emphasis on the recovery of existing and often fragile architectural and architectural heritage by interpreting the themes of contemporary space, from those of residence to those of complex and multifunctional organisms for culture and social life up to those of retraining and open space equipment would be focused. The transformations that have led to the current situation will be read and interpreted as well as elements that, apart from an arbitrary value judgment, enrich the architectural heritage. This new way of looking and listening requires us to respect all signs deposited on the existing city and is expressed by a design able to give value and meaning to the space transmitting a deep knowledge of the building. This district includes several monuments like mosques, houses, gardens, and schools. And also, by considering the Bazaar and valuable buildings around it, the importance to revitalize the urban context, culture, and economies is obvious. The main aim of our project is to reorganize the district for the inhabitants, Shopkeepers, and tourists as well by respecting the ancient functions and spaces and also considering the needs of today. The project aims to propose an educational methodology for dealing with heritage conservation projects: by promoting a design philosophy which supports the integrated approaches of revitalizing heritage values of the traditional communities and creates new activities appropriated with: conservation principles, sense of historic buildings and its cultural context, and continuous with local community’s needs.
