The Mediterranean Rail Freight Corridor in collaboration with the Politecnico di Milano has organized a End-to-end Monitoring Pilot Project with the aim to evaluate the results of a proper share of information along the rail transportation chain and the reliability of the IT system. Evaluating the European rail transportation market, it possible to see how the exchange of information plays an important role in increasing the competitiveness of the sector. The IT system RNE TIS should be able to overcome the problems related to data exchange and integration. Using the TAF TSI standard all the Infrastructure Mangers can send to TIS the trains information, while, on the other side, using the same data sharing standard all the stakeholder can get the operation information of trains running. In the project has been made evaluating 6 international routes (Noisy-Novara 1, Novara-Noisy 1, Noisy-Novara 2, Novara-Noisy 2, Barcelona – Busto Arsizio, Busto Arsizio – Barcelona), with the involvement of the player implicated in the rail transportation (Infrastructure Managers, Terminal, Railway Undertaking and Freight Forwarders). During the monitoring phase, a total of 131 trains and 1407 activities have been monitored by the TMO (Traffic Monitoring Observatory). Through the experience maturated in the Monitoring Pilot Project, has been made an evaluation of the IT system RNE TIS, making an evaluation of a set of KPIs related to data quality and data reliability, and have been defined the possible improvements.
Il Mediterranean Rail Freight Corridor in collaborazione con il Politecnico di Milano ha organizzato un Progetto Pilota di Monitoraggio End-to-end con l'obiettivo di valutare i risultati di una corretta condivisione delle informazioni tra i vari attori del trasporto ferroviario e valutare l'affidabilità del sistema informatico. Analizzando il mercato europeo del trasporto ferroviario, è possibile vedere come lo scambio di informazioni svolga un ruolo importante per aumentare la competitività del settore. Il sistema informatico RNE TIS dovrebbe essere in grado di superare i problemi legati allo scambio e all'integrazione dei dati. Utilizzando lo standard TAF TSI tutti i Gestori di Infrastruttura possono inviare a TIS le informazioni sui treni, mentre, dall'altro lato, utilizzando lo stesso standard di condivisione dei dati tutti i soggetti interessati possono ottenere le informazioni sullo stato dei treni in circolazione. Nel progetto sono state valutate 6 tratte internazionali (Noisy-Novara 1, Novara-Noisy 1, Novara-Noisy 1, Noisy-Novara 2, Novara-Noisy 2, Barcellona - Busto Arsizio, Busto Arsizio - Barcellona), con il coinvolgimento degli attori coinvolti nel trasporto ferroviario (Gestori dell'Infrastruttura, Terminal, Impresa Ferroviaria e Spedizionieri). Durante la fase di monitoraggio sono stati monitorati complessivamente 131 treni e 1407 attività dal TMO (Traffic Monitoring Observatory). Attraverso l'esperienza maturata nel Progetto Pilota di Monitoraggio, è stata effettuata una valutazione del sistema informatico RNE TIS, analizzando di un set di KPI relativi la qualità e l'affidabilità dei dati, e sono stati definiti i possibili miglioramenti.
