4,5 km An Open sky Museum: A new identity for the Colossus of Prora is a project that aims to restore the lost awareness of the identity of the Colossus of Prora. The question we asked ourselves was what could be the best type of approach to address the scale of the building and therefore of the Architecture which, as never before, in this case has taken on the peculiarities of "Bigness". “The best motivation to face the Bigness is the one offered at the time by the climbers of Mount Everest: << because it is there >>”, wrote Rem Koolhaas in the Junkspace text. At the same time that you do not lose sight of the importance of its historical aspect. The aim is to combine a program with an already active but chaotic reality, where the main place is missing to really offer a public quality space organized and planned in the long term, capable of telling the historical stratification of Prora. This translates into thinking of an "extension" of the Prora museum along its entire size: the whole complex is itself a museum. Through the insertion of some public services and structures in the space dedicated to the former bows between one sector and another, we have imagined being able to restore a direct visual connection between the buildings, the seafront and the space behind it, trying to give new uniformity and historical awareness through the project.

Abstract
Through the insertion of some public services and structures in the space dedicated to the former bows between one sector and another, we have imagined being able to restore a direct visual connection between the buildings, the seafront and the space behind it, trying to give new uniformity and historical awareness through the project.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
