Per un nuovo ampliamento del museo di Castelvecchio. Analisi del fabbricato e proposta di progetto

The proposal to Professor Caliari to develop my latest project at the Politecnico di Milano within the museum complex of Castelvecchio moves to try to increase, albeit in the form of an academic exercise, that activity (... if not perhaps at- tivism) of the Friends of the Civic Art Museums of Verona, the Association of Young Friends of the Castelvecchio Museum, the Order of Architects of Verona who have been working for years to promote the effective expansion of the Castelvecchio Museum in the courtyard to the west of the castle, that is the one inside which, to date, the entire Napoleonic stick building is occupied and the ground floor of the Reggia by the Circolo Uf ciali with a suggestive terraced view along the ume Adige. An expansion project was presented in 2018 at a conference at the new headquarters of the Order of Architects of Verona and published in the booklet "Fantasie per Castelvecchio". Inside the file we read, verbatim stating “Castelvecchio was made available to the Municipality of Verona by the Italian State in the distant 1928, with an act that clearly stated that the use of the entire - ro Castello without prejudice to the permanence of the Officers Club on a transitional basis, until the Municipality was unable to find a more suitable accommodation. 'and again' The premises and facilities used by the Off cial Club must be understood as being given on loan of use only for the institutional purposes of the Official Club in the relative negotiation deeds of assignment '. The delicate battle, because it speaks of this, for the reappropriation of the rooms belonging to the Civic Museum according to the aforementioned act continues in the light of the fact that the Museum must respond to an increasingly demanding and widespread cultural demand according to the most recent tourism data showing that there is an annual increase in visits of 15%. There is also a considerable number of Premise 7 pictorial and sculptural works of art now located in the dark of various Veronese deposits in the absence of museum spaces in which to place them. The collection on display at the moment does not present (or partly presents) important sections such as the paintings of the seventeenth and eighteenth centuries, - documents relating to the history of the Castle, the numismatic cabinet, the fabrics of Cangrande and in-depth studies on the Scaligera age, documents on the Risorgimento and the Habsburg period. In addition, there is currently no parking or refreshment space inside the museum, it could be introduced once the rooms of the Uf cali Circle have been recovered, especially on the ground floor of the Palace, overlooking the river. If we are talking about 'Fantasies for Castelvecchio', then the developed project finds a theme within which to dream of a new museum, capable of meeting the latest needs in terms of capacity, space and services. A new space, therefore, enclosed within the courtyard of the Palace, will occupy the reservoir. In the sincere hope that this exercise can contribute to the growth and deepening of research and support the 'activism' of recent years that is working to make the Museum of Castelvecchio a museum, in its desirable integrity, at the height of the extraordinary body of paintings, sculptures and objects that he exhibits to the public, I conclude my studies of the Master's Degree course at the Politecnico di Milano.

La proposta al Professor Caliari di elaborare questo mio ultimo progetto al Politecnico di Milano all’interno del complesso muse- ale di Castelvecchio muove per tentare di accrescere, sebbene in forma di esercizio accademico, quell’attività (...se non forse at- tivismo) degli Amici dei Civici Musei d’Arte di Verona, dell’ Asso- ciazione dei Giovani Amici del Museo di Castelvecchio, dell’Or- dine degli Architetti di Verona che ormai da anni lavorano per promuovere l’effettivo ampliamento del Museo di Castelvecchio nella corte più a Ovest del castello, ossia quella al cui interno, ad oggi, è occupata per tutto l’edi cio a stecca di età napoleonica e per il piano terra della Reggia dal Circolo Uf ciali con un sugge- stivo affaccio terrazzato lungo il ume Adige. Un progetto di ampliamento è stato presentato nel 2018 in una conferenza presso la nuova sede dell’Ordine degli Architetti di Verona e pubblicato nel fascicolo “Fantasie per Castelvecchio”. All’interno del fascicolo si legge, riportando testuamente “ Ca- stelvecchio fu messo a disposizione del Comune di Verona da parte dello Stato italiano nel lontano 1928, con un atto che dice- va chiaramente che veniva trasferito al Comune l’uso dell’inte- ro Castello fatta salva la permanenza del Circolo Uf ciali in via transitoria, no a che il Comune non fosse riuscito a trovare una sistemazione più idonea.’ e ancora ‘I locali e le strutture utilizzate dal Circolo Uf ciali devono intendersi af dati in comodato d’uso per i soli scopi istituzionali del Circolo Uf ciali nei relativi atti ne- goziali di af damento’. La delicata battaglia, perchè di questo di parla, per la riappropria- zione degli ambienti spettanti al Museo civico secondo il sovraci- tato atto continua alla luce del fatto che il Museo deve rispondere ad una domanda culturale sempre più esigente e diffusa stando ai più recenti dati sul turismo che riportano esservi un incremento annuo di visite del 15%. Vi è inoltre un considerevole numero di Premessa 7 opere d’arte pittoriche e scultoree ora locate al buio di diversi de- positi veronesi in assenza di spazi museogra ci in cui collocarle. La collezione esposta al momento non presenta (o presenta in parte) importanti sezioni quali i dipinti del Seicento e Settecento,- documenti inerenti alla storia del Castello, il gabinetto numisma- tico, le stoffe del Cangrande e approfondimenti sul’età scaligera, documenti sul risorgimento ed il periodo asburgico. Inoltre, non è presente al momento alcun spazio di stazionamen- to o ristoro all’interno del museo, esso potrebbe essere introdotto una volta recuperati gli ambienti del Circolo Uf cali, specialmen- te al piano terra della Reggia, prospiciente il ume. Se di ‘Fantasie per Castelvecchio’ si parla, allora ecco che il pro- getto sviluppato trova un tema all’interno del quale poter sogna- re un museo nuovo, capace di far fronte alle ultime esigenze di capienza, spazi e servizi. Un nuovo spazio dunque, racchiuso all’interno del cortile della Reggia, ne occuperà l’invaso. Nella sincera speranza che questo esercizio possa contribuire all’accrescimento e approfondimento della ricerca e sostenere l’‘attivismo’ di questi ultimi anni che si adopera per rendere il Mu- seo di Castelvecchio un museo, nella sua auspicabile integrità, all’altezza dello straordinario corpo di opere pittoriche, scultoree e di oggettistica che espone al pubblico, concludo i miei studi del corso di Laurea Magistrale al Politecnico di Milano.
