Global urbanization has grown at a rapid pace for the past two centuries, but not all cities have grown over time. Shrinking is a phenomenon that can occur as a result of different causes, which leads to population and property losses. The aim of this project is to study the shrinking phenomenon in the city of Detroit, Michigan. By analyzing the important factors affecting the future of the city, proposing a solution for improving the current situation of the historical district of Jefferson Chalmers. The regeneration of Jefferson Chalmers district can be a starting step towards a productive and dynamic city.
L'urbanizzazione globale è cresciuta a un ritmo rapido negli ultimi due secoli, ma non tutte le città sono cresciute nel tempo. Il restringimento è un fenomeno che può verificarsi per diverse cause, che porta a perdite di popolazione e proprietà. Lo scopo di questo progetto è studiare il fenomeno della contrazione nella città di Detroit, Michigan. Analizzando i fattori importanti che influenzano il futuro della città, proponendo una soluzione per migliorare la situazione attuale del quartiere storico di Jefferson Chalmers. La rigenerazione del distretto di Jefferson Chalmers può essere un primo passo verso una città produttiva e dinamica.
