2026 Milan-Cortina Olympic and Paralympic winter games. The cost-benefit analysis

The thesis describes Milano-Cortina 2026 Winter Olympic and Paralympic Games through an ex-ante Cost-Benefit Analysis. This evaluation has been done to understand the impact of the mega-event as a spectacle event respect to a well-defined area. To give a wide economic overview of the impacts of the Olympics, also environmental and social effects are calculated in monetary term. Moreover, Infrastructure Costs and Benefits linked to the Games, defined as secondary, have been measured. The approach provides which are the impacts transferred to the society. The final aspect is related to the period; the assessment is the attempt to comprehend the long run effects and to go further some analyses which explain only the direct impacts in the short-term.

L’elaborato descrive i Giochi Invernali Olimpici e Paralimpici 2026 attraverso un’analisi dei Costi e Benefici antecedente. La valutazione viene stabilita per comprendere l’impatto del mega evento come evento spettacolo rispetto a un’area ben definita. Conseguenze ambientali e sociali sono state misurate in termini monetari per dar una visione economica degli impatti provenienti dalle Olimpiadi. Inoltre, Costi e Benefici Infrastrutturali legati ai Giochi sono stati calcolati. L’ approccio fornisce quali sono gli impatti trasferiti sulla società. L’aspetto finale è legato al periodo temporale; la valutazione è il tentativo di comprendere gli effetti a lungo termine e di andar oltre alcune analisi che spiegano solamente gli impatti diretti nel breve periodo.
