The thesis focuses on Porta Genova Railway Yard's renewal development, currently in use and whose disposal is subject to the conclusion of the works on the Tibaldi and Porta Romana railway stations of the Circle Line and the Milano-Cortina 2026 Olympic Village. In particular, the instructions and requests of the Milan Territory Government Plan 2030 are taken into account, becoming part of the debate on the renewal of the Milanese railway yards initiated by the Program Agreement for the urban transformation of disused and decommissioned railway areas in correlation with the strengthening of the railway system in the Milan area. The goal is to make a contribution to the debate regarding a decisive and strategic issue, which will have a determinant influence on the changes and the structure of relations in the city of Milan, today and in the future. The definition of new systems of relations between the territorial resources that gravitate in the areas next to the railway yard emphasises the need to link the new intervention to the entire urban reality. The physical and visual permeability of the area is an essential element for the definition of a new system of spaces that can be used by all citizens. The project is taking shape as a sequence of full and void spaces that interact with the city, creating new systems of urban relations. Paying particular attention to the methods of appropriation by individual of public space, a spatial scan of paths has been outlined closely linked to the temporal scan of human actions. Reflecting on the theme of the profound social transformations taking place, the three main architectural figures that give rise to the sequence are the result of a typological experiment aimed at identifying new forms for sociality.

Abstract
Reflecting on the theme of the profound social transformations taking place, the three main architectural figures that give rise to the sequence are the result of a typological experiment aimed at identifying new forms for sociality.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
