The first aim of this work was to design and develop a novel MEA platform to be integrated with the a previously designed heart on a chip (Upsidedown chip), in order to functional evaluate the microtissue’s electrical activity. The second aim of this project concerned the design and production of an electric connection system between the complete device, called MEA-like Upsidedown, and the head stage for signal processing. Finally, the device was functionally and biologically assessed as a proof of concept.
Lo scopo primario di questo lavoro è stato quello di progettare e sviluppare una nuova piattaforma MEA da integrare con un cuore su chip (Upsidedown chip), allo scopo di monitorare l’attività elettrica del micro-tessuto. Il secondo scopo di questo progetto riguarda la progettazione e la produzione di un sistema di connessione elettrico tra il dispositivo nel suo insieme, chiamato MEA- like Upsidedown, e un head stage per processare il segnale. Infine, il dispositivo è stato funzionalmente e biologicamente testato.
