The work looks to classify innovative payments conducted through smart products which leverage on the use of Internet of Things networks. It begins by denoting the similarities between payment systems and IoT systems, forming a clear pattern for the interconnected development of both. As a result, innovative payments are introduced, and with them the different smart products that enabled them. The classification is made through the census of currently available as well as on development products and services, where their enabling smart product was noted as well as their common characteristics. Then, an empirical analysis was performed to better understand those similarities and the consequences they might bring for the future development of this innovative technology.

Abstract
The work looks to classify innovative payments conducted through smart products which leverage on the use of Internet of Things networks. It begins by denoting the similarities between payment systems and IoT systems, forming a clear pattern for the interconnected development of both. As a result, innovative payments are introduced, and with them the different smart products that enabled them. The classification is made through the census of currently available as well as on development products and services, where their enabling smart product was noted as well as their common characteristics. Then, an empirical analysis was performed to better understand those similarities and the consequences they might bring for the future development of this innovative technology.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
