This thesis work focuses on the design of an Olympic Village that would host the athletes of the Milano-Cortina Winter Games scheduled for 2026 and which could subsequently be converted into a student residence. The intervention area is that of the former Porta Romana railway station, located in the south-east area of the city of Milano, in a semi-central position. The project conceived aims to solve the problems identified in the area being analyzed and to create a system that represents a mending both from an architectural point of view, as well as from an environmental and social point of view. The result is the proposal of an eco-district, in which particular attention is paid to open spaces, buildings and related services in which the focus is always on the users and the environment. In fact, the architectural solutions adopted use both active and passive energy systems, in order to minimize consumption and maximize the efficiency of the entire complex. The block, due to its nature of large urban void, allows for a quality regeneration with the construction of new buildings using innovative technologies and materials, avoiding further land consumption. The project developed represents the implementation and verification of the effectiveness of the principles defined in a matrix - the result of the research phase - which relates the energy systems and their application at various scales.

Abstract
The project developed represents the implementation and verification of the effectiveness of the principles defined in a matrix - the result of the research phase - which relates the energy systems and their application at various scales.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
