The controlled overlap : a new modular system to renew the Monza Circuit

The circuit is considered as an overlap of elements added year after year, which narrate the story of the place and its identity. The thesis aims to identify the various levels and give them a new meaning through a subjective reinterpretation of the signs of which they are composed. Secondly, through the addition of new layers, the overlap will be controlled and the spatial configuration modified and reorganized to be able to tell a new story of the Monza Circuit.

Il circuito è considerato come una sovrapposizione di elementi aggiunti anno dopo anno, che raccontano la storia del luogo e della sua identità. La tesi vuole individuare i vari livelli e dare loro un nuovo significato attraverso una reinterpretazione soggettiva dei segni di cui sono composti. In secondo luogo, attraverso l’aggiunta di nuovi strati, la sovrapposizione sarà controllata e la configurazione spaziale modificata e riorganizzata per poter raccontare una nuova storia dell’Autodromo di Monza.
