Project of Vyborgskaya side in Saint Petersburg includes a balanced proportion of squares, parks, residential buildings, public buildings, cultural and educational buildings. Project provides dwellings and workplaces, cultural and recreational opportunities, as well as high-quality public spaces. Intensive use has been made of the ground as a resource: in the project parking is located underground – because of the generous space in underground parking. Moreover, the project on Vyborgskaya side are provided for public parking designed for people who need a short-term stay. Public parking lots are distributed throughout the territory in a balanced way - near residential buildings, near public, near the park and cultural buildings. A mandatory project was to foresee an underground public parking, for people working in the projected area or for those who came for a long period of time, for example, taking a walk, visiting historical places, public or cultural centers. The aim was to encourage varied use concepts including retail, services, leisure and catering. The project assumes that over the next few years, a dense urban cityscape, will grow up on the site, offering near to green corridor a range of housing and leisure opportunities, as well as commercial uses. In the new district, squares, promenades and parks not only serve as a thread linking various forms of architecture and uses, as well as public places, but also as distinguishing features in their own right. Green spaces also embellish the built environment. In the park, with mounds, trees and a grassy play area and the urban planning element unifying a variety of uses, since green corridor is uniting the different function, which surrounded on a territory. Thus, green area unites the atmosphere of a public centers with residential blocks and cultural and educational buildings. In addition to public open spaces, many of private areas are accessible to all residents, local employees and visitors. Public and private land is interlocked; many spaces in private ownership are subject to general rights of way. This ensures that private areas between buildings remain passable to pedestrians or cyclists – and that the neighborhood is crisscrossed by a dense network of such paths and well connected leisure areas. So that despite the preponderance of private real estate owners then, Vyborgskaya side remains public space for inhabitants. Furthermore, curving paths will lead people through the greenery and landscape elements for active leisure and more with numerous groups of trees and many of them arranged in attractive groups. The central point of the concept is boulevard. It runs through the whole area like a «meandering river». From cultural buildings to Green Urban Heart creates the “axis” will contribute the new center of Vyborgskaya side would be more even easier to reach. The rich variety of open spaces in Vyborgskaya side complements the different mix of uses: sometimes they invite a stroll, sometimes to sit down and relax; sometime they open out into a generously proportioned boulevard, square or terrace, then they also offer sheltered spaces appealing to residents. For the neighborhood’s open space in the project used overlapping longitudinal and horizontally striped flooring. Throughout the area, the architecture is plays with variable ground levels, using ramps, steps or terraces to link them. In order to connect the various blocks into one complex project, horizontal structure was used with the purpose in order to deplete them into one element and combine all the blocks into one big element along a green street. The individual parts into which the facade is divided as a whole are interconnected by a common systematic idea, which denotes their mutual relationship, but also does not separate them into completely separate individuals. Unity and interdependence are visible throughout the building; at the same time, the protruding sides (forward) serve as a means to emphasize the main thing in a series of equal elements, leaving less important in the shade. Abundance of vertical articulations give the interior (courtyard) facade lightness and desire upward. Dominance on the facade of horizontal articulations gives the impression of solidity and stability of the building. For horizontal division of the facade of this building, a technique was used where the door and window openings, in which the height is greater than the width. The solution to the question where articulations give priority to the building depended on the objects surrounding it. In conclusion, the nature of the surrounding area is predominantly straightforward, which means that the facades should prevail with horizontal lines; it takes into account the coordination of the external decorating forms with the internal form and purpose of the building. On the facades, foundation traction was applied, which is consistent with the size of the supported load, which is designed to be wider and stronger. It is a good tool for expressing stability and strength in both a constructive and aesthetic sense.
