Posada. Ecomuseo delle quattro acque. Valorizzare il centro storico promuovendo il territorio

Posada is situated in the flood plain of Rio Posada, on the coast of the Tyrrhenian sea. Today the economy of Posada is based on seaside tourism limited to the summer season. Shifting activities towards the sea has led to the abandonment of the old town center, and investments in tourism exclude most of the territory from enhancement interventions and overlook the great environmental, landscape and cultural heritage potentials of the region. The project aims to establish an Ecomuseum in Posada, as an enhancement tool for the historic center and the general territory. The identity theme of the Ecomuseum will be “The four waters”: the lake, the river, the sea and the swamps, founding elements of landscape and human activities in Posada. The first step towards the project is to define the ecomuseum as a cultural institution: the analysis studies the current state of the art, the general principles and the existing legislation in Italy and in Sardinia. Lastly, the analysis examines four case-studies through literature review, site visits and interviews. The project involves the construction of thematic routes of the four waters, building a network between new realizations and existing trails, in the name of continuity. All the routes start from the historic city center, the core of the ecomuseum, because of both its memory and identity value and its elevated positions which allows privileged views on the four waters. Furthermore, the project maps and detects a circular route in the historic city center and selects six unfinished buildings and ruins to be converted to a museum (spread in four buildings), a cultural center and a hostel. All the four buildings that constitute the museum have their own exhibition rooms dedicated to the water element with which they have a direct visual connection. Finally, the impact of the project on the historic city center is verified using the Habitability Index: thanks to the restoration works and the new functions, a substantial increase of liveability occurs in the old city center, especially regarding attractiveness and the proximity variable.

Posada si sviluppa nella piana alluvionale alla foce del Rio posada, lungo la costa tirrenica sarda. Oggi l’economia di Posada si basa su un turismo balneare limitato ai mesi estivi e alla fascia costiera. Lo spostamento delle attività verso il mare ha portato all’abbandono del centro storico e gli investimenti indirizzati al turismo escludono dagli interventi di valorizzazione gran parte del territorio, che presenta però interesse dal punto di vista naturalistico, paesaggistico, tradizionale e culturale. Il progetto si propone di costituire a Posada un Ecomuseo come strumento di valorizzazione del centro storico e del territorio. Il tema identitario dell’Ecomuseo saranno “Le quattro acque”: il lago, il fiume, il mare e gli stagni, elementi fondativi del paesaggio e delle attività umane di Posada. Indagare l’Ecomuseo come istituzione culturale è il primo passo verso il progetto: si delineano lo stato dell’arte, i princìpi generali e la normativa vigente in Italia e in Sardegna. Infine si analizzano quattro casi-studio tramite ricerca bibliografica, sopralluoghi ed interviste. Il progetto prevede la realizzazione di una rete di percorsi tematici, dedicati alle quattro acque, che unisca nuove realizzazioni a percorsi esistenti con l’obiettivo di dar loro continuità. Tutti i percorsi territoriali iniziano dal Centro storico, che diventa nucleo dell’Ecomuseo a causa sia del suo valore di memoria ed identità sia della sua posizione soprelevata che concede viste privilegiate sulle quattro acque. Inoltre, il progetto individua nel borgo un percorso ad anello e prevede la conversione di sei edifici incompiuti o ruderi in un museo diffuso, un centro culturale e un ostello. Il museo diffuso è composto da quattro edifici, ognuno dei quali ha sale dedicate all’elemento d’acqua con cui costruisce un rapporto visivo diretto. In conclusione, si verifica l’impatto del progetto sul borgo antico di Posada utilizzando lo strumento dell’Habitability Index, dimostrando che grazie agli interventi di restauro e alle nuove funzioni nel borgo si verifica un sostenziale aumento della vivibilità, soprattutto per quanto riguarda l’attrattività e le variabili di prossimità.
