It starts from a real need of the Municipality of Muravera, such as the design for the new school building of the secondary school, the Agricultural School and the new Food and Wine sector in terms of catering and sales services, with the additional support of a school for tour operators, to develop themes regarding innovative teaching systems combined with concepts of energy and performance sustainability. The professional vocation of our Institute put as central moment for the training of students the moment of the laboratory exercise or or the school-work alternation, for which we have created a school that can perform at the same time the function of civic center for the community, and in which the pupils play an active role. The school space is conceived as an environment in which the pupil can unfold their potential by offering their professionalism also to external users. Therefore, rethinking the school not only as a place of training but as a social and community integrator, has allowed us to develop the theme of multifunctionality, addressing not only the school population, but all citizens. The spaces are designed to function not only synergistically but also independently. Wood was chosen as the raw material for the design of the building. Materials such as raw earth typical of the place were used for the composition of the envelope, recalling culture and traditions and ensuring good design performance. Structures and coatings are designed to give the building a welcoming character and the well-defined composition of the forms emphasizes the differentiation of the interior space. In terms of environmental sustainability, the contribution of passive strategies on comfort and consumption levels was assessed following the energy certification required by law and some objectives set by the American protocol as a support tool for design Strategies.

Abstract
It starts from a real need of the Municipality of Muravera, such as the design for the new school building of the secondary school, the Agricultural School and the new Food and Wine sector in terms of catering and sales services, with the additional support of a school for tour operators, to develop themes regarding innovative teaching systems combined with concepts of energy and performance sustainability. Our goal is to create a multifunctional complex that groups different public functions. In our opinion, planning and creating places for culture intended as spaces for the community must be a theme placed at the center of the redevelopment of our cities. The project aims to overcome the traditional closed and rigid space that reflects the transmission-hierarchical model of the traditional school and aims at an innovative organization of spaces, based on the principle of learning by doing. Structures and coatings are designed to give the building a welcoming character and the well-defined composition of the forms emphasizes the differentiation of the interior space. In terms of environmental sustainability, the contribution of passive strategies on comfort and consumption levels was assessed following the energy certification required by law and some objectives set by the American protocol as a support tool for design Strategies.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
