Homelessness is a social phenomenon and it is a product comes from the strucuture of our society. In the italian national context, the city of Milan attracts a high number of people in need, thanks to its dense network of services, and the trend is increasing in recent years. Through both quantitative and qualitative research methods, this work investigates the efficacy of reception facilities for homeless people. A new scenario has been outlined through the involvement of social actors engaged in the fight against homelessness in Milan and through the involvement of users, too. This work offers a meta-design overview of the possible actions to be put in the field, using design as a social innovation tool.
