The aim of this work was to design the building for the new headquarter of the Art Faculty, the schools of Architecture and Industrial Design and the Image and Acustics laboratories of the National University of Colombia as a conclusive phase of the study of the historic development of Bogotá’s university city and its architecture faculty. The construction of the university campus designed by german architect Leopoldo Rother in 1936, meant the first built example of modern university city in Latin America and understanding its value in the continental context is essential in assuming the role of the new faculty and its relation within the former idea of campus and the actual circumstances. Accordingly, a relevant proposal has to include a restructuring of the university city, the arts cluster within it, and the relation between the different arts.

Abstract
The aim of this work was to design the building for the new headquarter of the Art Faculty, the schools of Architecture and Industrial Design and the Image and Acustics laboratories of the National University of Colombia as a conclusive phase of the study of the historic development of Bogotá’s university city and its architecture faculty. The construction of the university campus designed by german architect Leopoldo Rother in 1936, meant the first built example of modern university city in Latin America and understanding its value in the continental context is essential in assuming the role of the new faculty and its relation within the former idea of campus and the actual circumstances. Accordingly, a relevant proposal has to include a restructuring of the university city, the arts cluster within it, and the relation between the different arts.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
