The regeneration of the preserved adobe-built city of Yazd, Iran. The low impact intervention based on the smart city approaches. Case study : the third yard of the lary house

For centuries, Middle Eastern civilizations survived through many difficulties wheatear caused by natural disasters or by foreign attacks. However, their citizens used to finda smart lifestyle, more specifically in architecture and urbanism, which are the main achievement of the cultures. Looking back into the history background and climate overview of Yazd –which has been rich in culture, architecture, genius construction methods and, economy even before inventing the concept of Sustainability or Smart City by the recent theorists- the general mind map over the research classified in three scales of the province, the city and the historical city of Yazd, Iran. This thesis aims to practice the novel architecture theories in the potential city of Yazd, compare them to the factthat ors made this city surv,ived and find the best solutions for regenerating it by the simplest and the most efficient approach. In addition, the research case study a remarkable evidence of the Persian House- will be the center of Persian Art and Architecture soon. Although here are distinct groups already working of renovating this 3000 square meter building, no prepared plan for the third yard yet. The proposal aims to make this yard as a public open space linked to the urban regenerating contents. The ultimate aim of this proposal is to improve the life quality of the locals by reconnecting and integrating them to the newly-built areas socially, environmentally and ,economically. Hope to be useful to stop the abandoning factors and to update the new management of Yazd’s old city.

Per secoli, le civiltà del Medio Oriente sono sopravvissute nonostante molte difficoltà causate da disastri naturali o da attacchi stranieri. Tuttavia, i loro cittadini erano soliti trovare uno stile di vita intelligente, più specificamente nell'architettura e nell'urbanistica, che sono il principale risultato delle culture. Guardando indietro al contesto storico e alla panoramica sul clima di Yazd - che è stato ricco di cultura, architettura, metodi di costruzione geniali e, economia anche prima di inventare il concetto di sostenibilità o Smart City dai recenti teorici - la mappa mentale generale sulla ricerca classificata in tre scale della provincia, la città e la città storica di Yazd, Iran. Questa tesi mira a mettere in pratica le nuove teorie dell'architettura nella potenziale città di Yazd, confrontarle con i fattori che hanno fatto sopravvivere questa città e trovare le migliori soluzioni per rigenerarla con l'approccio più semplice ed efficiente. Inoltre, il caso di studio della ricerca è una prova notevole della casa persiana: presto sarà il centro dell'arte e dell'architettura persiana. Anche se qui ci sono gruppi distinti che stanno già lavorando per ristrutturare questo edificio di 3000 metri quadrati, non è ancora stato preparato un piano per il terzo cortile. La proposta mira a rendere questo cantiere uno spazio pubblico aperto legato ai contenuti di rigenerazione urbana. Lo scopo ultimo di questa proposta è quello di migliorare la qualità della vita dei locali ricollegandoli e integrandoli alle aree di nuova costruzione dal punto di vista sociale, ambientale ed economico. Spero di essere utile per fermare i fattori di abbandono e per aggiornare la nuova gestione della città vecchia di Yazd.
