In quattro trame : ricerca a tappeto. Arte e design a quota zero

“In quattro trame” is a collective thesis, born from a common interest in the world of textiles. We approached this universe in four different ways and four separate works were born, groupped together.

“Ricerca a tappeto” is a volume that tries to analyze, investigate, study, imagine and research one of the objects that live in our homes, our daily life: the carpet. The carpet is the minimum space and the perimeter that contains gestures, actions, moments of our life; for this reason it deserves attention, to be placed in the spotlight and not just under our feet, because it cannot and must not go unnoticed by eyes of those who, like us, must take care of everything that is a project and that defines our places, our existence. Of this very long story, we decided to look at only the last part, the one that goes from the 20th to the 21st century, to show works by artists and designers who can be a starting point, a high example and more of how things can be designed. We will try to emphasize carpets that openly undermine and break the rules, that deceive our eyes, that transport us to new worlds; a potentially infinite research in which we analyze its role in the world.

In quattro trame è un lavoro di tesi collettivo, nato da un interesse comune per il mondo della tessitura. Ci siamo affacciati a questo universo con quattro differenti approcci e ne sono nati quattro lavori di tesi distinti ma che stanno tutti sotto lo stesso cappello. Ricerca a tappeto è un volume che cerca di analizzare, scandagliare, investigare, studiare, immaginare, ricercare, uno degli oggetti che vive le nostre case, la nostra quotidianità: il tappeto. Esso è lo spazio minimo, il perimetro che racchiude gesti, azioni, momenti della nostra vita e in quanto tale merita di avere attenzioni, di essere posto sotto i riflettori e non solamente sotto i nostri piedi, perché non può e non deve passare inosservato agli occhi di chi, come noi, deve occuparsi e prendersi cura di tutto ciò che è progetto e che definisce i nostri luoghi, la nostra esistenza. Di questa storia molto lunga, abbiamo deciso di guardare e raccontare solamente l’ultima parte, quella che va dal XX al XXI secolo, per mostrare opere di artisti e progettisti che possono essere uno spunto, un esempio alto e altro di come le cose possono essere pensate e progettate. Cercheremo di porre l’accento su tappeti che dichiaratamente scardinano e rompono le regole, che ingannano i nostri occhi, che ci trasportano in nuovi mondi; una ricerca potenzialmente infinita in cui analizziamo il suo ruolo nel mondo.
