Architectural reversibility. Recovery of Piazzale Accursio building

The aim of this work is to demonstrate the concept of architectural reversibility put into practice in the restructuring of an existing building. To this end, various scenarios of functional change over time will be considered, to which the building will have to respond, in particular from an organisational and material point of view, where the coherence and flexibility of the design will allow the use to be adapted without signifing large changes to the previous layput. The focus of the work will be on the adaptability of the spatial housing unit, the technical solutions of the various components, the importance of the design of installations as key elements in the restructuring, but also on the adaptation of the existing building to the urban requirements of its immediate surroundings.

Lo scopo di questo lavoro è quello di dimostrare il concetto di reversibilità architettonica messo in pratica nella ristrutturazione di un edificio esistente. A tal fine, saranno considerati diversi scenari di cambiamento funzionale nel tempo, ai quali l'edificio dovrà rispondere, in particolare dal punto di vista organizzativo e materiale, dove la coerenza e la flessibilità del progetto permetteranno di adattare l'uso senza significare grandi cambiamenti al layput precedente. Il lavoro si concentrerà sull'adattabilità dell'unità abitativa spaziale, sulle soluzioni tecniche dei vari componenti, sull'importanza della progettazione degli impianti come elementi chiave della ristrutturazione, ma anche sull'adattamento dell'edificio esistente alle esigenze urbanistiche del suo immediato intorno.
