Rehart. Incentivare l'economia circolare dei mobili in legno. Il nuovo servizio dell'Azienda Multiservizi di Igiene Urbana (Amiu) per i cittadini genovesi

Rehart wants to contribute to extend the life of wooden furniture in Genoa, aligned with the Circular Economy Action Plan, one of the main blocks of the Green New Deal. Europe is committed to acting on the entire life cycle of products. Directive 2008/98/EC of the European Parliament and of the Council defines the waste hierarchy. At the top there are prevention of waste and the preparing for reuse. In Italy, reuse and repair fields aren’t very clear and known, there is a lack of solutions that allow furniture to last more. In this context Genoa was the leader for wood waste in the European project Force. Some initiatives, focused on the prevention of post-consumer wood from household bulky items, were defined. Rehart’s goal is to work on the preparing for reuse field, acting on the large quantities of wooden furniture collected by Ecovan+, the recycling centers which gather bulcky waste around the city. Ecovan+ are provided by Amiu, the Urban Hygiene company in Genoa. The field research on the reuse context lead to consider many artisans and wood restyling experts as key figures of the service. Interviews and workshops were organized both with artisans and Amiu and the final service was developed thanks to their contribution. Rehart is a circular economy service provided by Amiu that allows to recover and regenerate wooden furniture which are still in good condition, thanks to a network of local artisans, the Rehartists. Rehart offers a furniture platform in which the Rehartists have their own area where they sell their refurbished furniture that come from a selection of pieces collected by Amiu and placed in the Reharea, a space used for the storage of the items in good condition. Thanks to the service citizens have the chance to see how a recovered piece of furniture can still be current and suitable for domestic environments thanks to the local artisans. The contribution of Service Design is to foster sustainable behaviours by showing the value and the possibilities of recovered furniture.

Rehart ha l’obiettivo di contribuire all’estensione della vita dei mobili in legno a Genova, in linea con gli obbiettivi del Piano d’Azione dell’economia circolare del Green New Deal, con cui l’Europa si impegna ad intervenire sull’intero ciclo di vita dei prodotti. Nella Direttiva 2008/98/CE si definisce la scala gerarchica di trattamento dei rifiuti, all’apice della quale sono presenti la prevenzione del rifiuto e la preparazione per il riutilizzo. In Italia la filiera di riutilizzo e riparazione è piuttosto nebulosa e poco tracciata, mancano soluzioni che permettano l’estensione della vita di mobili e elementi d’arredo. In questo contesto Genova ha partecipato come capofila per i rifiuti legnosi al progetto europeo Force, nel quale sono nate alcune iniziative focalizzate sulla prevenzione del legno post-consumo. L’obiettivo di Rehart è di inserirsi nell’ambito della preparazione per il riutilizzo, agendo sulle grandi quantità di mobili in legno raccolti dagli Ecovan+, isole ecologiche mobili predisposte da Amiu, Azienda Municipale di Igiene Urbana. In seguito all’analisi degli attori del riuso locali, sono stati individuati gli artigiani di restauro, restyling e recupero creativo come figure chiave. La ricerca sul territorio, le interviste e i workshop organizzati con gli artigiani e l’azienda Amiu hanno permesso la definizione del progetto Rehart. Quest’ultimo è un servizio di economia circolare dell’azienda di igiene urbana che permette, grazie ad una rete di artigiani locali, i Rehartists, di recuperare e rigenerare i mobili in legno ancora in buone condizioni. Rehart offre una piattaforma di arredo circolare nella quale i Rehartists hanno una propria vetrina dove vendono i mobili rigenerati provenienti da una selezione di pezzi collezionati da Amiu e collocati nella Reharea, spazio adibito allo stoccaggio di elementi in buono stato. Grazie all’artigiano il cittadino ha la possibilità di vedere come un mobile recuperato possa essere ancora attuale e adatto agli ambienti domestici. Il contributo del Service Design è di rafforzare i comportamenti sostenibili mostrando il valore e le infinite possibilità che possono avere i mobili recuperati.
